From a simple search engine in September 4 1998 to this point in 2015 one thing is clear, Google is always evolving and is now a force to reckon with in the digital sphere. I try to imaging a day or my life without Google now and do not want to know what it would look like. The simple search engine platform found a way to integrate into our daily lives with there range of products, like; Gmail, Google+, Google drive, Google Map, Google Chrome and many others. The word Google has gone from being the name of a company to being an action word. For me another name for 'change' should be 'Google' :D
Yesterday on the 1st of September here is what google said about the re-brand
Today we’re introducing a new logo and identity family that reflects this reality and shows you when the Google magic is working for you, even on the tiniest screens. As you’ll see, we’ve taken the Google logo and branding, which were originally built for a single desktop browser page, and updated them for a world of seamless computing across an endless number of devices and different kinds of inputs (such as tap, type and talk).
It doesn’t simply tell you that you’re using Google, but also shows you how Google is working for you. For example, new elements like a colorful Google mic help you identify and interact with Google whether you’re talking, tapping or typing. Meanwhile, we’re bidding adieu to the little blue “g” icon and replacing it with a four-color “G” that matches the logo.
Here is how Google has evolved over time.
